Netherton J+I School offers cooked meals, including a vegetarian and special dietary options, which are prepared daily in our kitchen by ISS Facility Services. The children are offered a choice of main courses and desserts and all meals are eaten in the dining hall.

The cost of a school meal for Key Stage 2 pupils is £2.10 and we are happy to accept payment for the week, month, half term or term, EY2 and Key Stage 1 pupils are covered under the Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme. Cheques (made payable to WMDC) or cash should be placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and class and handed into the class teacher or at the school office at the beginning of the school week.( Late payments should only be if your child is absent on that day.)

We have now been using the banding system for a while now and it is proving a great success with the number of children having meals increasing. The children and staff have adapted to the new system brilliantly meaning children can choose their main meal options every day with ease.

Facilities exist for children to bring packed lunches and drinking water is provided, children are not allowed to bring flasks, cartons, cans or bottles. Children who remain at school for lunch must stay on the school premises throughout the lunch break.
