Welcome to Year 4’s Class Page
We are taught by Mrs Lambert,Mrs Cunliffe and supported by Mrs Petts.
Our teaching and learning is cross-curricular and is centred around our topics. These are; Ancient Greece, Natural Disasters and North America and The Romans.
We are a kind, caring and energetic class that are eager to learn and have fun. We aim to work hard and try our best in everything we do, supporting one another along the way. Take a look below to find out more information about what we do in Year 4.
Year 4 Education Visit
Our Year 4 children went to visit Leeds City Museum on Tuesday this week to support their topic learning on ‘A Tale of Two Cities’. The children took part in a chronology workshop in the morning led by museum staff all about the different time periods in history and what Leeds was like in those time periods. This included famous people within those times, such as Benjamin Gott who invented the first woollen mill. The children worked in three groups to complete a timeline and a treasure hunt around the museum, based on their time period, finding and solving clues related to artefacts around the museum. After lunch they studied a large floor map of Leeds and completed several geographical questions based on this. Then for the remainder of the day the children looked around the rest of the museum, with the Life on Earth being the favourite exhibit. It certainly sounds like Year 4 has a super day incorporating both History and Geography knowledge in a fun and interactive way. Mrs Lambert commented on the enthusiastic nature displayed by all children during the activities – well done to all.
